What is free, and what does Gist It Pro add?
Translation is free for everyone, with no limits: Get it → Translate, See it → Translate, and the cards you save to Study. On the free plan, explanations and Say it share one request every 5 minutes.
Gist It Pro is a monthly auto-renewable subscription. It removes every limit and adds Online translation, the live interpreter.
How do I cancel or change my subscription?
In the app: Settings → Subscription → Manage subscription. Or in iOS: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Gist It. Cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period to avoid the next renewal; Pro stays active until the period ends.
I paid but the app still shows the free plan
Open Settings → Subscription → Restore purchases, make sure you are signed in with the same Apple Account you used to subscribe, and check that the iPhone is online. If it still doesn't unlock, write to us.
How do I get a refund?
Payments are handled by Apple, so refunds are requested from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. We don't see or process your payment details.
Using the app
Which languages are supported?
English, Russian, French, Spanish, German and Italian, in any pair. Choose the language you are learning and your native language in Settings. The interface is available in all six.
Online translation doesn't start or stops by itself
Online needs an internet connection, microphone access (iOS Settings → Gist It → Microphone) and Gist It Pro. It keeps listening with the screen locked, and stops on its own after 5 minutes of silence or when a phone call comes in. The session is saved to History either way.
“Something went wrong” or “No connection”
Gist It needs the internet for explanations, translations and Online. Check your connection and tap Retry. Settings → Service connections shows whether each service is reachable and how fast it answers. If one stays red, write to us.
How do I move my study list to Anki?
Open Study and tap Export list. Choose Anki or AlgoApp, then send the file to the app or save it to Files.
Which devices does Gist It run on?
iPhone with iOS 26 or later.
Your data
Where is my history stored, and how do I delete it?
Your history, study list, session recordings and translation cache are stored only on your iPhone. Swipe left on an item in History to delete it, use Clean up in Study to remove learned cards, and Clear cache in Settings. Deleting the app removes everything.
